How the Malice at the Palace Cost Reggie Miller a Ring

Reggie Miller is one of the all time NBA greats. He played 18 seasons with the Indiana Pacers, one of the very few players that played their entire career with one team. Reggie as the franchise player put the Pacers on his back throughout the late 80s all the way to the early 2000s. Miller is regarded highly amongst his peers and inspired many young athletes over the years. As great as reggie was on the court, he remains ringless like Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing among other for superstars. Unlike those star players, Miller was the favorite to win a championship in the 2004-2005 season. Unfortunately for him, his teammates throw a wrench in his championship goal that year. We take a look back how Miller 's legacy was ruined by the Malice at The Palace Brawl.

Why spotlight Reggie Miller and the Brawl?

Those that don't follow the NBA very closely may not be aware of just how spectacular Reggie Miller. A few highlights against Spike Lee and the New York Knicks doesn't tell the full story. Miller was the definition of a franchise player, had a the heart of a lion, and just as clutch as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Paul Pierce. Reggie doesn't often get the credit he deserves and that I believe is due to his lack of an NBA Championship. Its important to remind fans, the Malice at the Palace, completely reshaped his legacy. I like many others had the Indiana Pacers as the heavy favorite to win it all, thus Reggie becoming a champion once and for all.
